Welcome to the Love & Light Films website.
My name is Kristina. I come from Slovenia and I create video memories for families. I capture priceless family moments and put them into unique stories through film. The family can then proudly watch the film again and again, as well as share it with their friends, relatives, children, grandchildren. For it is a story of love. For life.
It all started when my long-time wish of becoming a mother came true. As well as being immensely happy I had many everyday worries that all parents are familiar with. But one worry was especially heavy. How to capture all these magic moments. Of course I took a lot of photos. I wrote diaries. I wrote lists of this and that. And I recorded. More and more. I made one film, then another, ideas flew, the films were thematic, fun, serious.
One evening, when me and my husband yet again welled up watching another one of my films, I got an idea. I could do this for other mothers, other families. The idea grew and grew.
Giving birth to my daughter made my biggest wish come true. Making video memories for families made another wish come true. I’m very thankful for both.

Here’s a taste of my films. Below, you can watch some short versions of the final films that families receive, as well as compilations from various films.
As this is publicly available, I’ve removed or adapted shots including children’s faces. Your final film will, of course, be longer and without such censorship.
The film examples below are posted with the families’ permissions. For that I am very thankful to them.

WHAT THE FILMING LOOKS LIKE
A few days before the agreed filming date we will have a phone call to discuss the exact time, location, weather and your wishes.
On the day of the filming my priority is to follow the child’s needs and routine, as well as making sure the family feels relaxed and comfortable. I approach the child slowly, talk to them, play with them and take time. Usually, though, they’re the first to accept my presence and the first to start cooperating.
At first, I can film memory objects, such as pregnancy tests, umbilical cords, first pieces of clothing as well as maternity ward bracelets, albums, first hairs, first teeth and favourite toys. Meanwhile we can happily chat, get to know each other and the filming may then carry on in a very relaxed manner.
During the filming we may chat freely, as I immediately remove sound when editing the film at home – I don’t want to listen to my own voice for hours. I then add some soft music, of course. I may also record and include crying, talking, a fairy tale being read, or an instrument being played, as well as laughter, singing and so on.
If the child or the family require a break, we take some time off, I also give the family some space if needed. We do nothing by force, and I try to make the filming relaxed, pleasant, and fun.
Your family film will be most genuine, pure and yours if during the filming you are yourself. If you do what you usually do. If you love picnics, we will have a picnic. If you enjoy walks, we’ll go for a walk. Maybe we’ll cook, bake, play instruments, dance, sing … maybe your children love reading fairy tales or browsing through the family album. And we will definitely film some cuddling, kissing, caressing hair, and certainly many smiles.
Despite a rough plan and wishes, we will film spontaneously, as you never know what ideas come up when the family is having fun at home or in beautiful nature. Of course I contribute an idea or two as well, and then the family decides whether we realise it or not. But I am absolutely not someone that constantly demands, corrects and tells the family what to do. Often I also like to distance myself a bit and stay quiet for a while, to give the family the opportunity to really do their own thing with no distractions. That’s when they’re really themselves, when they forget about me and when I can catch the most genuine and priceless moments.
Each filming is its own story, just like each family is. Special and unique. And each filming so far has been nice and fun, which means it’s sometimes hard to say goodbye, especially to children. They’re such genuine and open beings that I often receive a long hug before leaving. The parents often confirm my words that video filming really is simpler than photo shooting as no posing is required. They often add that they were really relaxed and could really do their usual activities, and for moments forgot that I was filming them.
The filming is therefore your usual day, with the only difference being me in a corner with the camera, capturing your lovely moments, and getting closer every once in a while. Relaxed, fun and calm.
PRICING
With each package you receive your film on a wooden USB drive in a lovely wooden box. That way your video memories will be waiting for you in a special place for you to see again anytime. Through the years you will be able to add new memories in the form of family films.
With each package you also receive a link and a password with which you can access the film. The film is uploaded privately and can only be viewed by you, myself and relatives and friends that you share the link with the password with. That way you can show them the film without being in the same place.
The length of the film is usually between 8 and 13 minutes.
The NEWBORN – Filming up to 2 hours at home and/or in nature. Several shots of the newborn baby (up to the age of 6 months), including the whole family.

The DRONE (aerial shots) – Weather permitting, and in a suitable location.

A SHORTER VERSION FOR SOCIAL MEDIA – If you want, I can remove or correct shots which include the child’s face. I can also remove shots from the long version that you want. If you allow me to post the short version on this website and the Love & Light Films Facebook page, I create the shorter version free of charge.
The length of the shorter version is a few minutes shorter (length between 50 and 70 %), depending on what we agree on and how many shots you want me to remove.

TRAVEL EXPENSES – Filming in Maribor and nearby (up to 20 kilometres) is free of charge. Elsewhere, the price is calculated with the standard travel expenses rate. I can also travel abroad – contact me to discuss such arrangements.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We would love to have a family film, but our dad is not fond of taking pictures, let alone being filmed.
Your dad is not the only one – most dads simply don’t like such things. When we get together, we will first take a few minutes to chat, get to know one another and make a rough plan and share our wishes. Then I start by filming memory items such as pregnancy tests, first pieces of clothing, maternity ward bracelets, special toys, books, first teeth, first hairs etc. During the filming we keep on chatting.
I continue by filming the children, moms with children, pets. As we chat, laugh, and share interests throughout the filming, the dads soon relax as well. Then they cuddle their children, throw them in the air and do all sorts of mischief. Towards the end, they are often full of ideas and nearly overshadow the moms. Almost 😉
If they still don’t want to spend much time in front of the camera, then a few minutes are enough for me to catch a group hug, a kiss, or a walk.
Your family film is yours only. Without your permission I don’t share any part of the film anywhere. The link on which you receive the film is private and the film can only be watched by those with the password. That’s only me, you and whomever you share it with. Therefore there is no reason to worry.
Depending on the weather forecast, we can reschedule to an earlier or later hour. If we agreed to film both indoors and outdoors, then we will film inside and then try to catch the rain stopping for a few minutes. If filming outside is very important to you, we can reschedule the filming to another date.
Especially if you have a small child or small children, I leave the decision of when to film to you. Pick a time that suits everybody best. In the film, it’s also nice to see the child during rest. So don’t worry about naps. It is good if I can film a baby during nap time, so I can film their hands, face, feet, hair … when the baby wakes up, we can continue, if we haven’t filmed everything we’d wanted. I can also return later.
If it’s possible, I follow your location wishes. I can drive to anywhere, or we can go to a location after filming at home.
While filming, my priority is to follow the child’s routine and their needs. I take the required time for the child to get used to me, I talk and play to them. I get closer gradually. If the child or the family need a break, we take one, if needed I give them space. We never do anything by force. I plan on making the filming as fun as possible.
Clean at least one room, where we’ll do most of the filming. That’s usually the living room or the kitchen. During filming and editing I also pay attention to anything being a distraction, so you needn’t worry. On the other hand, we do want some usual family chaos in the film, as that’s what real life is like as well, right? 😊
We can talk and have fun during filming. The moment I start editing the film I turn off the sound, as I’m not interested in listening to my own voice for hours 😊, and I replace it with carefully picked soft music.
Pets are always welcome, and I love to include them in the film. As long as there’s no big risk of me being hurt or the camera getting damaged, of course 😊
Of course. She can play several songs and we pick one together, or just a part. Any instruments or singing are more than welcome. We can also include, if you wish, the baby’s crying, babbling, words, as well as parents comforting them or singing lullabies to them.
You will receive the film on a USB drive. If your TV supports USB drives, you can watch (and show) the film on your TV at home. From the drive, you can also save the film on your computer and watch it there. You also receive the film on a link with a password. You can then share it with whomever you want, which allows them to watch it anywhere.
After you watch the film, I can remove a certain shot or fix what can be fixed.
I can create a shorter version of the film that does not include the children’s faces, or the children at all.
I can also create a version where only details such as hands, feet, and shots from afar are visible. We can agree on which shots will be used.
